Privacy Notice
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data Book Launch Ready collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. Book Launch Ready is operated by Yvette Farkas (sole proprietor), based in Canada.
1. Data controller
Yvette Farkas is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. You can reach us at info@singingsoulbooks.com.
2. What we collect and why
Account and identity data
Name, email address, and login credentials — used to create and secure your account, send you essential account emails, and authenticate you on return visits. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
Manuscript and publishing data
The manuscript file, author bio, author photo, and any answers you give while working through the 14 steps — used to generate your back cover copy, keyword research, KDP setup guidance, and Launch Kit PDF. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
Support communications
Emails and messages you send us — used to respond to your questions and improve the Service. Legal basis: legitimate interests (operating and improving the Service).
Usage and device data
Pages visited, features used, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, and device identifiers — used to keep the Service secure, detect abuse, and understand how authors use the tool so we can improve it. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Payment data
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited as our Merchant of Record. We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive a transaction reference, the amount, the country of purchase, and your email so we can link the purchase to your account.
3. Who we share data with
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record. Handles checkout, payment processing, billing, sales tax and VAT, invoicing, refunds, and chargebacks. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — our cloud database and application hosting partners who store and serve the Service on our behalf.
- Email delivery provider — used to send transactional emails such as login links, receipts, and Launch Kit deliveries.
- Professional advisers — accountants and legal advisers, where strictly necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.
4. International transfers
Our infrastructure and Paddle's infrastructure operate globally. Where personal data is transferred outside your country of residence — for example from the EU/UK to Canada or the United States — we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel or stop using the Service, we keep your account and manuscript data for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted or anonymized — except where we are required to keep records for tax, accounting, or legal reasons (typically up to 7 years for invoices).
6. Your rights
Subject to your local law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- request a portable copy of your data;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@singingsoulbooks.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for the database, access controls, and least-privilege service credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
8. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies — required to keep you logged in and to remember your progress through the 14 steps. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — used in aggregate to understand which steps are most useful and where authors get stuck. You can disable these in your browser settings.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated by email or via the Service.
